THEATRE BAR HIRE

For an interesting alternative for an event, you can either hire our bar area by itself, or hire it in conjunction with the auditorium.

The bar area is upstairs in the theatre, so being in a railway arch is slightly smaller than the downstairs, but it holds 40 comfortably and has been used for events of up to 60 people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the bar have a late licence ?

No, the building is only licenced so that it closes at 11pm. However it is possible to get a temporary licence from Southwark Council if you want your event to go on later.

What does the bar stock ?

The bar stocks a range of beers, wines and soft drinks which are the typical drinks ordered at a theatre bar. If you have special requirements such as champagne or spirits, please let us know in good time to order them in for your event. There are no facilities for draft beers.

Can you provide catering services ?

Yes we can, through a range of trusted partners.  You are also welcome to organise catering yourself, including contracting serving staff if you wish to do so.

Do we serve ourselves drinks from the bar ? / Is the room totally ours when we hire it ?

The terms of our premises licence mean that the bar has to be staffed by us at all times.

Can we come to visit to look at it ?

Yes, the theatre is open from around 10 am, Monday through Friday and at other times when classes or performances are on. Occasionally the bar area is used for rehearsal space, so please call us for an appointment if you want to be sure that you will get to see it.
